The Cat and the Squirrel Regarded Each Other

squirrel watching cat watching squirrel.
I keep thinking I’m going to do better about keeping up with the blog, and then I realize it’s been a month since my last post.
You who still read this blog may wonder what happened to my promise to post images of the baby robins as they grew.  Well, we also have a pair of Red Tailed Hawks nesting nearby.  Need I say more?  We did have another pair of robins who chose their nesting site much more wisely, and I have some photos of their fledglings following mom (or dad) around the yard.  Since their nest was up in the floor joists of our deck, I couldn’t photograph them until they were old enough to leave the nest.
Leila has been extremely entertained this spring by the birds and the squirrels as shown above.  The squirrels are quite bold and come up to the window to see her.  And though I’m sure they are just curious, I wonder if Leila thinks they are taunting her.  Notice how she’s flattening her ears.
Whatever she was thinking, this photo makes me smile.  I’m sharing it with the other participants over at Camera Critters.  (Hi, Misty Dawn and friends!  Remember me?)

I love this picture. I love your pretty cat. Our kitty is so big now. We love her. Even more now that her litter issues have left us ; )

I *love* this shot! How fun to watch the interaction. And I'm quite certain the squirrel was probably entertained :)
Wish my lil dogs would sit quietly and watch squirrels...they would be bouncing up and down trying to go through plate glass.

PS...blog-cations are okay!

Leila is beautiful. Reminds me of home ... kitties sitting at the window watching the action in the garden ... especially early in the morning when it's buffet time! Lovely shot. Hope all is well with you and yours.....

Our three cats do the same thing...Often you can hear them trying to talk to the squirrel or birds.

Nice hearing from you. Hope you have a nice weekend.

What an adorable photo...very cute! I find our cat staring out the window at the squirrels as well and chattering away at them.

I hope you haven't had too much rain in your area...take good care!

So sorry to hear about the little robins...we have had a few heartbreaks here too this spring. Your cat is beautiful...ours used to sit and look out the windows for hours...now our little dog Bugsy is the watch dog...fish and frogs being his favorites.

Adrienne - I know what you mean about keeping up with the blog - for me it seems Intelligent Expressions has taken over - as I promised to post every day. I did it last year - and have missed only a few this year. But life and so much more has crowded out my first blog. I had been wondering about your baby birds. Sorry to hear of the out come - but look forward to seeing your other photos.

Hope you are well.

If they were young they could have been friends. :)

I'm not surprised the cat sees the squirrel but that the squirrel sees the cat is another matter! Great photo, Adrienne. I'm sorry you are not finding the time to post as your photos are always wonderful!
This is such a fun photo!
I just did a post on a baby robin that I was privileged to watch grow. I didn't see it fledge though.

Hope you are doing well, Adrienne. ♥
