Skywatch Friday - Approaching Storm

As we headed up to Estes Park, CO a couple weeks ago, the skies were mostly clear with a few of those wispy clouds that suggest a change is on the way.

Here's a view toward the east overlooking Lake Estes just as you come into town.

We did encounter snow flurries as we drove up into the national park. This shot is looking back as we were winding our way back to the entrance at sunset. Looks rather foreboding, doesn't it? But the snow just stayed in the higher elevations that night.

We had some April snow in Ohio, too. But things are greening up nicely around here and the spring flowers are blooming. The magnolias and cherries are just begininng to blossom. I'll be enjoying sunny skies today as I mow our lawn for the first time this season. Ahh, spring!

Beautiful shots of Estes. In so far as mowing, better you than me. But after on Ohio winter, doing anything outside is welcome.

Beautiful series. I like the last one, very dramatic.
Andrienne: Wonderful captures from big sky country, I knew it didn't look like Ohio.

Ah, such great photography! It seems the area is behaving much like ours way up here in the Rockies. We may get the odd snow flurry down here but no accumulation but still lots up in the mountains!
Take care!!
