Gifts

Following our family's tradition of reading the Bible account of Jesus' birth before opening gifts, Henry excitedly found the passage in his Bible. Though, not the passage from Luke 2, he found the passage in Matthew 2 regarding the visit of the Magi. Well, that seemed fitting to us since it is the story of the first Christmas gifts, so we encouraged him to continue reading.

Henry was happily reading aloud to us all. Now, he is an excellent reader, but sometimes puts the accent on the wrong syllable of words he is trying to sound out. When he came to the final verse, it went like this:

"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they present-ed unto him gifts; gold, and Frankenstein, and mire."

He realized his mistakes right away, and we all giggled for a little while. Never again to hear that passage of Scripture without thinking of this Christmas. :)

So cute! I love what kids can come up with when it comes to theology and the Bible.
