Meadow Katydid – Camera Critters

katydid photo by Adrienne in Ohio
Megan and I found this little guy “singing” away in our European Beech Tree the other day.  Getting a clear shot proved difficult because of the breeze and the continual buzzing of his wings.

Sorry for the graininess of this photo, but his face was just too cool not to share with you.  For more great critter photos, click on the badge below.

How neat! I know all about trying to get shots in the breeze... it has been quite windy here lately. We have a chance of snow today, and will have a freeze (24 degrees) tonight - UCK UCK UCK!!!

P.S. Did you happen to see that I was picking on you in my Misty's Words post? hehe Couldn't resist ;-)

I love the softness of your first shot! It's almost watercolor like.
The breeze does get in the way. I'm glad it didn't stop you.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

His eyes look like little pearls! Great close ups of this interesting little guy!
Adrienne: Those little guys are extra hard when the wind blows or the clouds cover the sun. At least we had some sun today.
Hi Adrienne, You got some great pictures of the katydid... I hear them sometimes --but seldom see one. You captured him really well.
Hugs,
Betsy

Katydids are my favorite sound of summer! They sing me to sleep every night...I miss them already!
Aren't "critters" amazing when you see their faces up close?! Yay for macro and zoom!
