Dew-Drenched

white flower drenched with dew - photo by Adrienne Zwart
Another view from my early-morning walk on Friday.  My feet got pretty wet every time I wandered off the trail to photograph something.  By looking at this flower, you can see why.  Every single square centimeter was absolutely covered in dew.  I love the way the moisture makes these flowers appear to be constructed of tiny glass beads.
I’m still trying to determine what this is.  The spires of blooms remind me of clethra, but the buds seem too round.  Any ideas on identity of this flower?

This is lovely!
I'm going to come back to see if anyone knows what it is.
I like the impressionism painting it has. :)

Perfect! This is wonderful!
Perfect macro, Adrienne.... Those little water crystals are totally awesome on that flower/plant. I have no idea what it is---but the dew makes it very unique.
Hugs,
Betsy

After some more searching in the flowering shrubs category of my wildflower guide, I have found a positive ID. This is Meadowsweet. It is a member of the rose family with showy white or pale pink spires of flowers.
