I tried enlarging to see if that was an eagle...it is a beautiful shot no matter what kind of bird that is.

That's such a lovely shot! :)

That bird was so far away. I've zoomed in on the photo and tried to lighten it a bit to see if more detail would show. It's either a turkey vulture or a golden eagle.

Beautiful pic! It does look like some kind of hawk.

I think I've bumped into you on The Arthur Clan blog, haven't I.

Happy SWF!

A lovely photograph, nice capture of the large bird, whatever he may be :) Wish I knew more about them to identify them.

I believe my elevation in Florida is about 6 feet. A far cry from Iron Mtn.

Well, well, I was at Bok Tower in December and did twelve blogs for the twelve days of christmas from the historic home next to the Bok Tower. Did you get to hear the organ?

I think the general consensus is that this bird was a lone turkey vulture. Not the prettiest of birds up close to be sure, but still a wonder to watch as he soared on the thermals.

We did have the opportunity to hear the carrillon bells. There's a concert every day at 1 and 3 pm.
